Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, and Propylparaben ~ Are these the names of Cinderella’s evil step-sisters?

No, but they are just as bad!  They represent just some of the many parabens that are found in most all beauty and personal care products on the market today.  Surprised?  You are not alone.  Information about chemicals, fillers, and synthetic compounds has, until recently, been hard to find, if not impossible.

Parabens are inexpensive preservatives used to give products a longer shelf life – some as long as a decade!  Unfortunately, while giving products a longer selling cycle, parabens can be the cause many negative problems – from skin irritation, to mimicking estrogen – which can lead to hormonal disruption, all the way to altering our body’s cells.

Knowing this, why are the vast majority of beauty and personal care product companies still using them?  The quick answer is that they are cheap to make, cheap to use, and will allow the products to remain on the shelf indefinitely.

Honestly – would you even want to use a product that could have shelf life of double digit years?  Science and nature must work together in harmony. We deserve to use products that are safe, effective, and will improve our skin. – without the worry of dangerous side effects.
